ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE FIVE-YEAR FULL-TIME DEGREE PROGRAMMES
The following B. Agric programmes are offered in the Faculty of Agriculture.
1. Agricultural Economics and Extension Services.
Degree Options
(i) Agricultural Economics and Resource Management
(ii) Agricultural Extension and Rural Development

2. Animal Science
3. Crop Science
Degree Options
(i) Crop Production
(ii) Crop Protection

4. Aquaculture and Fisheries Management
5. Forestry and Wildlife
Degree Options
(i) Forestry and Wood Sciences
(ii) Wildlife and Eco-Tourism Management

6. Soil Science and Land Resources Management
7. Food Science and Nutrition (B. Sc)

A. Admission Requirements for the Five-Year Full-Time Degree Programme. (UTME)
Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:

(a) Programmes 1-6

At least five Ordinary Level Credit passes in WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO/ SSCE or any of their recognized equivalents at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include the following:
English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any other subject chosen from Physics, Geography, Economics, Statistics and, Further Mathematics. In all cases, at least a pass in Physics is required. A pass in Biology is required for candidates with a credit pass in Agricultural Science.

(b) Programme 7

Candidates seeking admission into the B.Sc Programme in Food Science and Nutrition should possess at least five O/L Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
NOTE: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are:
(a) Use of English
(b) Chemistry
(c) Biology or Agricultural Science
(d) Mathematics or Physics

B. Admission Requirement for the Four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)
In addition to A above, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:
i. At least, two Advanced Level passes at the General Certificates of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC), or any of their recognized equivalent in Chemistry and any one of the following: Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics. Geography, Economics, Zoology, Botany and Mathematics.
ii. At least, a merit level pass (with effect from 2007/2008 session) in the University of Benin. Diploma in any of the following:
(a) Agricultural Economics (DAE)
(b) Agricultural Extension and Cooperatives (DAEC)
(c) Fisheries, Forestry and Wildlife Management (DFFW)
(d) Geology (DIG)
(e) Advanced Microbiology (DAM)
(f) Food and Brewing Science (DFBS)
(g) Science Laboratory Technology (DSLT)
(h) Food Science Technology

(iii) Diploma from other recognized Universities with, at least, an upper credit level pass or OND with Upper Credit level pass in the subject areas listed in (ii) above.
(iv) The Nigerian Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least a credit level pass in any of Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Home Economics, from a recognized College of Education. In addition, candidates should have, at least, an overall merit level pass.
(v) A Higher National Diploma (HND) with, at least, a lower credit level pass in Agricultural Science, Fisheries, Forestry and Wildlife or Food Science from a recognized institution.

C. Admission Requirements for the Seven-Year Part-Time Degree Programme
Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
At least, a five Ordinary Level Credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE, or any of their recognized equivalents at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include the following:
English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any other subject chosen from, Physics, Geography, Economics, Statistics and Further Mathematics.
In all cases, at least a pass in Physics is required. A pass in Biology is required for candidates with a credit pass in Agricultural Science.

D. Admission Requirements for the Six-Year Part-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)
In addition to C above, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:
(i) At least, two Advanced Level passes at the General Certificate of Education (GCE), or the Higher School Certificate (HSC), or any of their recognized equivalents in Chemistry and any one of the following: Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics, Geography, Economics, Zoology, Botany and, Mathematics.
(ii) At least, a credit level pass in the University of Benin Diploma in any of the following:

(a) Agricultural Economics (DAE)
(b) Agricultural Extension and Co-operatives (DAEC)
(c) Fisheries, Forestry and Wildlife Management (DFFW)
(d) Geology (DIG)
(e) Advanced Microbiology (DAM)
(f) Food and Brewing Science (DFBS)
(g) Science Laboratory Technology (DSLT)
(iii) Diploma from other recognized Universities with at least, an upper credit level pass in the subject areas listed in D (ii)
(iv) The Nigerian Certificate of Education (NCE) with, at least a credit level pass in any of Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics, from a recognized College of Education. In addition, candidates should have, at least, an overall merit level pass
(v) A higher National Diploma (HND), with at least, a lower credit level pass in Agricultural Science, Fisheries, Forestry and Wildlife from a recognized institution.

NOTE: The Part-Time programme is only for the following Departments;
i. Crop Science,
ii. Aquaculture and Fisheries Management
iii. Forestry and Wildlife
iv. Soil Science and Land Resources.
