DEPARTMENT OF ADULT AND NON-FORMAL EDUCATION
THE DEPARTMENT OFFERS COURSES LEADING TO THE AWARD OF:
A. Bachelor Degree (B.Ed) in Adult Education
B. Bachelor of Science or (Art Education) Degree (B.A., B.Sc.) in Adult Education plus teaching subjects which include Economics and Statistics, English Language and Literature. Geography and Regional Planning, Political Science and Fine Art.

B. Ed Adult Education Programme.
This course aims at producing high level manpower in the area of Adult Education by equipping the students with the requisite knowledge that will enable them contribute to the growth and improvement of the discipline as well as contribute to national development.
1.1 Admission Requirements for the Four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (UTME)

Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
At least five Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, GCE, SSCE (WASC/NECO) NTC, NBC (NABTEB) or at least five merit – level passes in Teachers Grade II certificate Examination (TCII) or any recognized equivalent at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language and Mathematics for teaching subjects which are Economics and Statistics. Political Science and Geography & Regional Planning.
Candidates for the B. Ed Adult Education (Professional) do not require mathematics and B.A (Ed) Adult Education/English & Literature do not require a Credit in Mathematics.
NOTE: The University Matriculation examination is compulsory for candidates wishing to study B.A. (Ed.) and B.Sc. (Ed.) Adult Education combined with teaching subjects.

1.2 Admission Requirements for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)

Candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission.
(i) At least two-merit level passes in relevant subjects at the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and three Ordinary Level Credit passes in WASC, SSC/GCE (NECO,WAEC)/NTC, NBC (NABTEB) or at least three merit level passes in Teacher Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC II) or any of their recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting. The „O Level credit should include English Language.
(ii) Three merit passes at the NCE in the relevant subject areas and two Ordinary Level credit passes in WAEC/SSCE/GCE/(NECO, WAEC)/NTC/NBC (NABTEB) or two Merit Level passes in TC II or any recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting. The „O level credit should include English Language.

(iii) At least a merit pass in the University of Benin Diploma in any of the following:

Adult Education and Community Development, Social Work (DSW), Theatre Arts (DTA), Physical Education (DPE), Health Education (DHE), Public Administration (DPA), Mathematics Education (DME), Agricultural Economics (DAE), Fisheries, Forestry and Wild life Management (DFFW), Agriculture Extension and Co-operatives (DAEC) and three Ordinary Level 32
 Credit passes in WASC/SSCE/GCE (NECO, WAEC), NTC/NBC (NABTEB) or three merit level passes in TC II or any recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting. The subjects should include English Language.
(iv) Diploma with at least an upper credit level pass from any other recognized University in Adult Education (DPE), Health Education (DHE), Public Administration (DPA), Mathematics Education (DME), Agriculture Economics (DAE), Fisheries, Forestry and Wild Life Management (DFFW), Agriculture Extension and Co-operatives (DAEC), and three Ordinary Level Credit passes in WASC/SSCE/GCE (NECO, WAEC), NTC/NBC (NABTEB) or three merit level passes in TC II or any recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting.

NOTE: The subject should include English Language.
(v) At least two Advanced level pass in GCE or Higher School Certificate (HSC) in arts/Social Science subjects obtained at one sitting and three Ordinary Level Credit passes in WASC/SSCE/GCE (NECO, WAEC), NTC/NBC (NABTEB) or three merit level passes in TC II or any recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting.

NOTE:The subjects should include English Language
(vi) Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with at least an overall upper credit level pass in any of the above subject areas from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology and three Ordinary Level Credit or merit level passes in TC II or any recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting.

1.3 Admission Requirement for Five-Year Part-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)

Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
(i) At least two merit level passes in the relevant teaching subjects in Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) and three Ordinary Level Credit passes in WASC, SSCE/GCE (NECO, WAEC), NTC/NBC (NABTEB) or three merit level passes in Teacher Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC II) or any recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting.

NOTE: The subject should include English Language.
(ii) At least three merit level passes in NCE and two ordinary level credit passes in WASC, SSCE/GCE (NECO, WAEC), NTC/NBC (NABTEB) or two merit level passes in Teacher Grade II (TC II) or any recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting.


(iii) At least an Upper Credit Level in Diploma in Adult Education (DAE), Social Work (DSW), Theatre Arts (DTA), Public Administration (DPA), Health Education (DME), Agricultural Economics (DAE), Agricultural Extension and Co-operatives (DAEC), Fisheries, Forestry and Wild Life Management from a recognized University and five ordinary level credit passes in WASC, SSC/GCE (NECO, WAEC), NTC/NBC (NABTEB) or at least three merit level passes in the Teacher Grade II Certificate Examination (TC II) or any recognized equivalent obtained at not more than two sittings.

NOTE: The subject should include English Language.
IN GENERAL
(iv) A pass in NCE General English/a merit in TC II and NCE Basic Mathematics are regarded as equivalent of Ordinary Level Credit pass in English Language and Mathematics respectively.
(v) Where a candidate is unable to matriculate because of deficiency in English or Mathematics, General English or Basic Mathematics at NCE shall be accepted but not both.
(vi) Holders of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) are required to fulfil the UTME requirements

(BA/ED) ADULT EDUCATION/ENGLISH AND LITERATURE
A. Admission Requirement for the Four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (UTME)
Candidates seeking admission into this Programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
At least five Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO/SSCE or at least five merit-level passes in the Teachers Grade II (TC II) examinations or its recognized equivalent at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language and Literature in English, and another Arts subject, (to include Government).
Note: Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are:
(a) Use of English
(b) Literature in English
(c) One Art subject and
(d) Any other subject

B. Admission Requirements For The Three-Year Degree Programme (Direct Entry)
In addition to B above, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission: 34

(i) At least two Advanced Level passes in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or its recognized equivalent. The subjects should include Literature in English and one other Arts subject.
(ii) At least a credit-level pass in the Diploma in Theatre Arts (DTA) of the University of Benin or an equivalent qualification (with at least an upper credit-level pass) from any other recognized University.

(iii) Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least a credit-level pass in English Language as Principal subject from a recognized College of Education. In addition, candidates should have at least an overall credit-level pass.

(iv) At least an upper-credit pass in the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Mass Communication from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.

B. Sc (Ed) ADULT EDUCATION/ECONOMICS AND STATISTICS
A. Admission Requirements into four year full Time degree programme (UTME)
West African School/SSCE Certificate, WASC in Credit passes in at least five subjects which should include English Language and Mathematics (obtained at not more than two sittings) or equivalent Credit Passes in the General Certificate of Education at the Ordinary Level (also obtained in not more than two sittings). There are no waivers for credit passes in English Language and Mathematics.
Note: Unified Tertiary Matriculations Examinations (UTME) subjects are:
a) Use of English
b) Mathematics
c) Economics
d) One other Art or Social Science subject

B. Admission Requirements for three full Time degree programme (Direct Entry)
Requirements in A (a) above plus two or more subjects in the General Certificate of Education at the Advanced level or the High School Certificate one of the subjects must be Economics.
ADULT EDUCATION AND POLITICAL SCIENCE
(A) Admission Requirements for four year full-time degree programme (UTME)

At least five credit passes in the WASC/SSCE/NECO or GCE (O/L) or at least five merit passes in TC II. These must include English Language and Mathematics plus Government or History and any Social Science subject, of which must have been obtained in not more than two examination sittings.
 NOTE: Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are:
(a) Use of English Language
(b) Government/History
(c) One other Social Science subject
(d) Any other subject.

(B) Admission Requirements for Three Year Full-Time degree Programme (Direct Entry)
i. Requirement A (i) above, Plus
ii. GCE (A/L) Passes or H. Sc. (principal level passes) in at least two social science subject one of which must be Government.
iii. Holders of the NCE with specialization in Government or History and any other Social Science subjects with an overall pass with merit.
iv. Holders of the Diploma in Public Administration (DPA) of the University of Benin or any other recognized Institution with at least an overall pass with credit.
v. Holders of the Diploma in Local Government of any recognized Institution with at least an overall pass with credit.
vi. Holders of Diploma in Social Work. (DSW) of the University of Benin or any other recognized Institution with at least an overall pass with credit.
vii. Holders of the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with credit passes in related Social Science subjects for example Government, Mass Communication etc.
viii. Holders of the Diploma in International Relations of any recognized Institution with at least an overall pass with credit.

ADULT EDUCATION/GEOGRAPHY & REGIONAL PLANNING
A. Admission Requirement for four year full Time degree programme (UTME)

Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following;
A Senior Secondary Certificate of General Certificate of Education or their equivalent with at least five Credit Passes which must include English Language and Geography at not more than two sittings.
NOTE: The UTME subjects are;
i. Use of English,
ii. Geography
iii. and other Social Science Subjects
iv. or any other Science subject.

B. Admission Requirements for three year full-time degree (Direct Entry)
To be eligible for Admission into this Programme a student must obtain.
i. At least five Credit Passes in the General Certificate of Education or its equivalent of which at least two shall be at the Advanced Level or five Credit Passes of which at least three shall be at the Advanced level, provided that such passes are not counted at both levels of the examination. Two A Level subjects must include Geography and any other Social Science or Science subjects while the “O” Level subject must include English Language and Maths.
ii. A Merit Pass in the N.C.E. English Language or a pass in the General Paper at the H.S.C. is acceptable as fulfilling the English Language requirement for Direct Entry only, and
iii. At Least a Credit in Mathematics

G. BSc. (Ed) Social Studies

Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
At least Five Ordinary level credit passes in WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO/SSCE, NABTEB, NTC/NBC or at least, five merit level passes in Teachers Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC II) or any of their recognized equivalents obtained at not more than two sittings. Admission Requirements for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)
Candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:

(i) At least two merit level passes in the relevant subjects at the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and three Ordinary level credit passes in WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO/SSCE, NABTEB, NTC/NBC or three merit level passes in the Teachers Grade II Certificate (TC II) or any of their recognized equivalents obtained at one sitting or five credits level passes at two sittings. The „O level subjects or equivalents should include English Language and Mathematics and subjects relevant to the intended course of study (see UTME Requirements).
(ii) At least a merit level pass in the University of Benin Diploma or Diploma in relevant courses from a recognized institution and five Ordinary Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics obtained at not more than two sittings. The subjects should be relevant to the intended course of study (see UTME Requirements).
(iii) At least two Advanced Level passes in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or any other recognized equivalent in the relevant subject areas and five Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC, GCE, NECO/SSCE, NABTEB, NTC/NBC or five merit passes at the TC. II or any other recognized equivalent obtained at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics. The O Level subject or equivalent should be relevant to the intended course of study (see UTME Requirements).

Admission Requirements For the Five and Six-Year Part-Time Degree Programme For All CIT Programmes.
The requirements are the same as for the Four-Year and Three-Year Full-Time Programmes.
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL EVALUATION & COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGY
I. B. Sc. (Ed) G & C (Biology)
(A) Admission Requirements For Four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme. (UTME)
Candidate should possess five credit passes at SSCE, GCE, NECO in not more than 2 sittings, including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and any other Science subject in addition to the UTME and PUTME requirements.
Note: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) Subjects are:
i. Use of English
ii. Mathematics
iii. Biology
iv. Chemistry or Physics

(B) Admission Requirements for Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (DE)
(i) In addition to the Matriculation Requirements, (i.e a above) candidates should posses a minimum of merit in the relevant teaching subject(s) at the NCE or at least Credit Passes in not less than two subjects at the GCE „A Level. A merit in the relevant subject at Diploma of the University of Benin is accepted

2. B. Sc (Ed) G&C (Social Studies):
(A) Admission Requirements for Four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (UTME)
Candidates should possess five credit passes at SSCE O Level, GCE, NECO in not more than two sittings including English Language, Mathematics and any three Social Science subjects, including UTME and PUTME requirements.
Note: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are:
(a) Use of English
(b) Mathematics
(c) Any two of Economics, Government and Geography

(B) Admission Requirements for Three-Year Full-Time degree Programme (DE)
i. In addition to the Matriculation Requirements, (i.e 2 (A) above), Candidates should possess a minimum of merit in the relevant teaching subject(s) at the NCE at least credit passes in not less than two subjects at the GCE „A Level. A merit in the relevant subject at Diploma of the University of Benin is accepted.
ii. At least two merit level passes in the relevant subjects at the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE). In addition, candidate should possess five Ordinary Level Credit passes in WASSCE, WAEC/GCE, NECO, SSCE/GCE, NABTEB, NTC/NBC or any other recognized equivalent obtained at not more than two sittings. The „O Level subjects or equivalents should include English Language and Mathematics and subjects relevant to the intended course of study (see UTME Requirements).
iii. At least a merit level pass in the University of Benin Diploma or Diploma in relevant courses from a recognized institution and five Ordinary Level Credit passes including English Language and Mathematics obtained at not more than two sittings. The subjects should be relevant to the intended course of study (see UTME Requirement).
iv. At least two advanced Level passes in the General Certificate (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or any other recognized equivalent in the relevant subjects areas and five Ordinary Level Credit passes in WASSCE, WAEC, GCE, NECO, SSCE/GCE, NABTEB, NTC/NBC or any other recognized equivalent obtained at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics. The „0 Level subjects or equivalent should be relevant to the intended course of study (see UTME Subjects).

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (DEF)
EDUCATION/ENGLISH & LITERATURE
A. Admission Requirements for Four Year Full-Time Programme (UTME)
At least five (5) Ordinary Level Credit pass in WASC / SSC / GCE / NECO / NTC / NBC (NABTEB) / Teacher Grade Two Certificate (TC II) or any other recognized equivalents obtained in not more than two (2) sittings. The OLevel credit passes should be in English Language & Literature and any other Arts and Social Science subjects.

Note: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are:
(a) Use of English
(b) English Literature
(c) One Art subject
(d) Another Art or Social Science Subject

B. Admission Requirements for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programmes (Direct Entry)
Candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:
(i) At least three merit level passes in relevant subjects at the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and three Ordinary Level Credit level passes in WASC / SSC / GCE / NECO / NTC / NBC (NABTEB) / Teachers Grade Two Certificate (TC II) or any of their recognized equivalents obtained in not more than one sitting. One of the “O” level credits should be English Language.

(ii) At least two Advanced level passes in relevant subjects at the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or any recognized equivalents and at least five Ordinary Level Credit level passes in WASC / SSC / GCE / NECO / NTC / NBC (NABTEB) / Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination (TC II) or any other recognized equivalent obtained in not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language and Literature, History or Government, Religious Studies, and any other Arts subject.

(iii) At least a merit level pass in Diploma in English, French, History (International Relations) from the University of Benin or at least a credit level pass from other recognized Universities and at least five Credit level passes in WASC / SSC / GCE / NECO / NTC / NBC (NABTEB) / Teachers Grade Two Certificate (TC II) or any other recognized equivalent obtained at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language and Literature, History or Government, Religious studies and any other Arts subject.

EDUCATION/EDO LANGUAGE
A. Admission Requirements for Four year Full-Time programme (UTME)

Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
(i) At least five (5) Ordinary Level Credit pass in WASC / SSC / GCE / NECO / NTC / NBC (NABTEB) / Teacher Grade Two Certificate (TC II) or any other recognized equivalents obtained in not more than two (2) sittings. The “O” level credit passes should be English Language, Edo/Igbo/Yoruba/ Hausa and any other Arts and Social Science subjects.

 Note: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are:
(a) Use of English
(b) English Literature
(c) One Art Subject
(d) Another Art or Social Science Subject

B. Admission Requirements for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programmes (Direct Entry)
i) At least three merit level passes in relevant subjects in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and three Ordinary Level Credit level passes in WASC / SSC / GCE / NECO / NTC / NBC (NABTEB) / Teachers Grade Two Certificate (TC II) or any other recognized equivalents obtained in not more than one sitting. The “O” level credit passes should be English Language, Edo/Igbo/Yoruba/Hausa and any other Arts and Social Science subjects.
ii) At least two Advanced level passes in relevant subjects at the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or any recognized equivalents and at least five Ordinary Level Credit level passes in WASC / SSC / GCE / NECO / NTC / NBC (NABTEB) / Teachers Grade II Certificate (TC II) or any other recognized equivalent obtained in not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language any Local language, History or Government, Religious Studies, and any other Arts subject.

(i) Credit passes in at least five subjects in the Senior Certificate Examinations conducted by West African Examinations Council (WAEC), National Examinations Council (NECO); or

(ii) Teachers Certificate Grade II at merit level pass or

(iii) National Business and Technical Examinations Board; (NABTEB) at not more than two sittings.

(iv) The subjects obtained must include credits in English Language, Mathematics, an Arts subject, and any Science subject.

Candidates seeking admission into this Programme should any of the following qualifications:

The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science and any other two subjects.

Admission Requirement for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)
Candidates seeking admission into this Programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
(i) at least two merit level passes in the Certificate of Education(NCE) one of which should be in Health Education or Biology or Integrated Science and three Ordinary level Credit passes in WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO, NABTEB or at least Three Merit Level Passes in the Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination (TCII) or any other recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting or five O Level credits at not more than two sittings. These should include English Language and Mathematics.

(iv) At least Registered Nurse Certificate and Five O Level Credit passes in WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO, NABTEB, or at least five merit level passes in the Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination (TCII) or any other recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting or five O Level credits at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language and Mathematics.

At least two merit-level passes in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) one of which should be Agricultural Science and at least Three Ordinary level passes in WASC, WAEC SCCE/GCE, NECO SSCE/GCE NABTEB, NTC/NBC or at least three merit-level passes in TC.II or any of their recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting or five credit level passes at two sittings. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Agricultural Science or/and any other Science subjects.
B. Sc. (Ed) Business Education:
Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
i. At least two merit – level passes in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) including Business Education/Accounting/Secretarial Education/Office Technology and Management and three Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/ GCE, NECO SSCE/GCE NABTEB, NTC/NBC or at least three merit – level passes in TC.II or any of their recognized equivalent obtained at not more than one sitting, or five merit level passes at two sittings. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics and any other subjects chosen from Economics, Government, Geography, Accounting or Commerce and any other social science subjects/or commercial subjects/ or Art subjects.

ii. At least three merit-level passes in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) including Business Education/Accounting/Secretarial Education/Office Technology and Management and three Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO, SSCE/GCE NABTEB, NTC/NBC or at least three merit-level passes in TC.II or any of their recognized equivalent obtained at not more than one sitting or five merit level passes at two sittings.  iii. Joint Examination Board (JEB) London Teachers Diploma in Shorthand and Typewriting from R.S.A. National Secretarial Certificate (SC) and at least three Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE/GCE NABTEB, NTC/NBC or three merit-level passes in the Teachers Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC.II) obtained at one sitting or five merit level passes or any of their recognized equivalent obtained at not more than two sittings The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics and any other subjects chosen from Economics, Government, Geography, Accounting or any other social science subjects/ or commercial subjects/ or Art subjects. 
iv. National Technical Teachers Certificate (NTTC) and in addition Advanced Certificate in Shorthand and Typewriting at R.S.A., NSC and R.S.A. and at least three Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE/GCE NABTEB, NTC/NBC or three merit passes from Teachers Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC.II) in one sitting or five merit level passes including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.

B. Sc (Ed) Home Economics Education:
Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications.
i. At least two merit-level passes in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) one of which should be in Home Economics and Three ordinary Level credit passes WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO, SSCE/GCE NABTEB, NTC/NBC in one sitting or Five Ordinary Level credit passes in two sittings, or at least three merit-level passes in the Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination (TC II) in one sitting or five merit level passes or its equivalent obtained at two sittings. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Agricultural Science and any other Science subjects.

ii. At least two merit-level passes in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) one of which should be in Home Economics and Three Ordinary Level credit passes WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO, NABTEB, NTC/NBC in one sitting or Five Ordinary Level merit passes in two sittings in the Teachers Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC.II) with three merit passes in one sitting or five merit level passes in two sittings, or any of their recognized equivalent obtained at two sittings. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, and other three related subjects chosen from Agriculture Science, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Food and Nutrition or Clothing and Textiles or Home Management, or Trade (Catering, Craft Practice) or Fine and Applied Arts.

iii. At least an Upper Credit-level pass in Diploma in Home Economics, Hotel and Catering Management from a recognized University or Polytechnic or College of Technology, and a merit-level pass in Diploma from the University of Benin. In addition, Three Ordinary Level credit passes in one sitting or Five Ordinary Level credit passes in two sittings in WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO, SSCE/GCE NABTEB, NTC/NBC or two merit-level passes at the Teachers Grade II certificate Examinations (TC.II) in one sitting or five merit level passes (TC II) at two sittings or any of their recognized equivalent obtained at two sittings. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Agricultural Science and any other Science subjects.

B. Sc. (Ed) Industrial Technical Education
Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
i. At least two merit-level passes in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) one of which should be Technical Education or Physics/Chemistry, Chemistry/Mathematics, Physics/Mathematics and at least three Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE/GCE, NABTEB, NTC/NBC or two merit level passes at the Teachers Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC.II) or any of their recognized equivalent obtained at one sitting. The subjects should include English Language and Mathematics and any other Science and/or Technical subjects.

ii. At least two merit-level passes in the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) one of which should be Technical Education or Physics/Chemistry, Chemistry/Mathematics, and at least three Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO, SSCE/GCE, NABTEB, NTC/NBC or two merit level passes at the Teachers Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC.II) in one sitting or five merit passes in two sittings or any of their recognized equivalent obtained at two sittings. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics and any other Science and Technical subjects.

iii. City and Guilds (Finals) or Engineering Technicians Certificate and at least three Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO, SSCE/GCE, NABTEB, NTC/NBC, Federal Craft Certificate or two merit level passes at the Teachers Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC.II) in one sitting or five merit passes in two sittings or any of their recognized equivalent obtained at two sittings at least three Ordinary Level credit passes obtained at two sitting. The subjects should include English Language and Mathematics.

Admission Requirement for the Five-Year Part-Time Degree Programme
The Department offers the following Part-Time Degree Programmes:

The admission requirements into these programmes are the same as for the Four Year Full-Time Degree Programmes.
IN GENERAL:
i. A pass in NCE General English/a merit in TC.II and NCE basic Mathematics are regarded as equivalence of Ordinary Level credit passes in English Language and Mathematics respectively.

ii. Where a candidate is unable to matriculate because of deficiency in English or Mathematics, General English at NCE shall be accepted but not both.

iii. Holders of Ordinary National Diploma (OND) are required to fulfil the UTME requirements.
