CHEMISTRY AND INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTRY PROGRAMME
A. Admission Requirements for the Four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme
Candidates seeking admission into this Programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
At least five Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE/GCE or at least five merit passes in Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination (TC II) or any of their recognized equivalents at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and either of Biology and Agricultural Science.
NOTE: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) subjects are:
a. Use of English
b. Chemistry
c. Physics
d. Biology or Mathematics
B. Admission Requirements for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)
In addition to requirements in A above, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:
(i) At least two Advanced level passes in the General Certificates of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or any of their recognized equivalent at not more than two sittings.
The subjects should be selected from Chemistry and any of Physics and Mathematics.
(ii) At least a merit level pass in the University of Benin Diploma in any of the following disciplines:
(a) Analytical and Industrial Chemistry (DAIC)
(b) Science Laboratory Technology (DSLT)
(c) Geology (DIG)
(iii) Diploma from other Universities recognized by the senate with at least an Upper credit level pass in the areas listed in B (ii) above.
(iv) Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with at least an Upper credit level pass in Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) or Polymer Chemistry from a
Polytechnic or College of Technology recognized by the senate of University of Benin.
(v) Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a lower credit level pass in Polymer Chemistry or Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) in the relevant subject area from a Polytechnic or College of Technology recognized by the senate of University of Benin.
(vi) Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least a credit level pass in Chemistry and either one of Physics or Mathematics or Integrated Science from a College of Education recognized by the senate of University of Benin. In addition candidates should have at least an overall credit level pass.
(vii) Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Physics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Mathematics, Integrated Science Education, Chemistry Education and Physics Education with at least third (3rd) Class from and Universities recognized by the senate of University of Benin.
COMPUTER SCIENCE
A. Admission Requirements For The Four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme

Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
At least Five O Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE/GCE or at least five credit passes in Teachers Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC II) or any of their recognized equivalent by the Senate of the University of Benin at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other Science subjects from Economics or Geography, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Further/Additional Mathematics.
NOTE: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are;
a. Use of English
b. Mathematics
c. Physics
d. Any one of Chemistry or Biology or Agricultural Science or Economics or Geography

B. Admission Requirements For The Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)
(i) In addition to the O-Level requirements listed above in A, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission.
(ii) At least two Advanced Level passes in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or any of their equivalents recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include Mathematics and any other Science subject.
(iii) At least a merit-level pass in the University of Benin Diploma in any of the following:
(a) Data Processing (DDP)
(b) Science Laboratory Technology
(c) Computer Engineering (DICE)
(d) Maritime studies and ICT

(iv) Diploma from other recognized Universities with at least an Upper Credit level pass in the areas listed in (iii) above
(v) Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with at least an Upper Credit level pass in Data Processing/ Computer Science/ Statistics, from a Polytechnic or College of Technology recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin.
(vi) Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower Credit level pass in Data Processing/ Computer Science/ Statistics, in the relevant subject areas from a Polytechnic or College of Technology recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin.
(vii) Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least a credit level pass in Computer Science, Mathematics and any other Science subject from a College of Education recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin. In addition, candidates should have at least an overall Credit level pass.
(viii) Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Physics, Computer Education, Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Integrated Science Education, and Physics Education with at least third (3rd) Class from Universities recognized by the Senate of University of Benin.
C. Admission Requirements for the Six-Year Part-Time Degree in Computer Science (BCS)
Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
At least five O-Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE/GCE, NABTEB or at least five merit passes in Teachers Grade II Certificate Examinations (TC II) or any of their recognized equivalent at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other Science subjects from Chemistry, Biology Agricultural Science, Geography and Economics.
D. Admission Requirements for the Five Year Part-Time Degree in Computer Science (Direct Entry)
In addition to the O-Level requirements listed above, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission.
(i). At least two Advanced Level passes in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or any of their recognized equivalents at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include Mathematics and any other Science subject.
(ii). At least a Merit-level pass in the University of Benin Diploma in any of the following:
a. Data Processing
b. Science Laboratory Technology
c. Computer Engineering (DICE)
d. Accounting
e. Banking and Finance
f. Chemistry

(iii). Diploma from other recognized Universities with at least a Lower Credit level pass in the areas listed in (ii) above
(iv). Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with at least a Lower Credit level pass in Data Processing/ Computer Science/ Statistics, Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.
(v). Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Pass Grade in Data Processing/ Computer Science/ Statistics, Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), Accounting, Banking and Finance in the relevant subject areas from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.
(vi). Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least a Merit level pass in Mathematics and any other Science subject from a recognized College of Education. In addition, candidates should have at least an overall Merit level pass.
GEOLOGY
A. Admission Requirements for the Four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (UTME)

Candidates seeking admission into this Programme should possess any of the following qualification:
At least five Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE /GCE or at least five credit passes in Teachers Grade II (TC II) examination or any of their equivalent recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin at not more than two sittings. The subjects include English Language Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
NOTE: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are:
a. Use of English

B. Admission Requirements for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry):

In addition to requirement in A above, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:

The subjects should be selected from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Geology.

(a) Geology (DIG)
(b) Science Laboratory Technology (DSLT)
(iii) Diploma from other Universities recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin with at least an Upper credit level pass in the areas listed in B. (ii) above.
(iv) Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with at least an Upper credit level pass in Science Laboratory Technology (SLT),Geology Mining, Geophysics or other relevant areas from a Polytechnic or Colleges of Technology or

Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin.
(v) Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a Lower credit level pass in Science Laboratory Technology (SLT), Geology, Mining Geophysics or other relevant areas from Polytechnic or College of Technology or Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin.
(vi) Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least a credit level pass in Biology or Chemistry from a recognized College of Education. In addition candidates should have at least an overall merit level pass.
MATHEMATICS (Pure & Applied)
A. Admission Requirements for the Four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme. (UTME)

Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
At least five Ordinary Level credit passes in WAEC SSCE/GCE/NECO SSCE/GCE or at least five credit passes in Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination (T.C. II) or any of the equivalent recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin at not more than two sittings.

(vii) A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree certificate in any of the Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Geology/Mining, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Microbiology, Optometry, Botany, Zoology, SLT, Statistics, Computer Science and Engineering) with at least 3rd Class Honours from any University recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin
INDUSTRIAL MATHEMATICS
A. Admission Requirements for the Four-Year Full Time Degree Programme.

Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
At least five Ordinary Level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE/NECO SSCE/GCE or at least five credit passes in Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination (T.C. II) or any of the equivalent recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin at not more than two sittings.
The subjects should include, English Language, Mathematics, and any three of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science, Economics, Financial Accounting or Accounting and Business Studies, Further Mathematics

A. Admission Requirements for the Four-Year Full Time Degree Programme.

Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
At least five Ordinary Level credit passes in WAEC SSCE/GCE/NECO SSCE/GCE or at least five credit passes in Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination (T.C. II) or any of the equivalent recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include, English Language, Mathematics, and at least three Science or Social Sciences Subjects or a combination of Science and Social Science subjects.
NOTE: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) subjects are;
a. Use of English
b. Mathematics and any two science or Social Science subjects or a combination of Science and Social Science subjects.

B. Admission Requirements for the Three-Year Full Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)
In addition to the requirements in A above, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:
(i) At least two Advanced Level passes in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC) or any of the equivalent recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin at not more than two sittings. (iii) Diploma from other Universities recognized by the Senate with at least an Upper credit level pass in the areas listed in B (ii) above.
(iv) Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with at least an Upper credit level passes in Mathematics/Statistics and other Science or relevant Social Science subjects in B (i) above from any Polytechnic or Colleges of Technology recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin.
(v) Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a lower credit level passes as in B (iv) above.

(vi) Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) with at least a merit level pass in Mathematics/Statistics and other Science or relevant Social Science subject from a College of Education recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin. In addition, candidates should have at least overall merit level pass grade.

(vii) A Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) degree certificate in Physics, Biochemistry, Mathematics Education and Physics Education, Integrated Science
Education with at least 3rd Class Honours from any University recognized by the senate of the University of Benin.
PHYSICS
A. Admission Requirements for the Four year Full Time Degree Programme:
Candidates seeking admission into this Programme should possess any of the following qualifications:
At least five ordinary level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE/GCE, or at least five credits passes in Teachers Grade Two(TC II) examination or its equivalent recognized by the senate of the University of Benin at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include English language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and any one of the following subjects Biology or Agricultural Science.
NOTE: The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) subjects are:
a. Use of English
b. Physics
c. Chemistry
d. Mathematics
B. Admission Requirements for the Three – Year Full Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry):
In addition to requirement in A above, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:
(i) At least two advanced level passes in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or Higher School Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent recognized by the senate of the University of Benin at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include Physics and either one of Chemistry or Mathematics.
(ii) At least a merit level pass in the University of Benin Diploma only in any of the following.
a. Analytical and Industrial Chemistry (DAIC)
b. Science Laboratory Technology (DSLT)
c. Geology (DIG)
d. Computer Engineering (DICE)
e. Chemical Engineering (DICHE)
f. Maritime Studies, Information and Communication Technology.

Candidates seeking admission into this programme should possess any of the following qualification:
At least five ordinary level credit passes in WASC, WAEC SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCE/GCE or at least five credit passes in Teachers Grade II Certificate examination (TC II) or its equivalent recognized by the University of Benin in not more than two sittings. The subject should included English language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and either Biology or Agricultural Science subject.
B. Admission Requirements for the Five – Year Part Time Degree Programme in Industrial Physics (BIP):

In addition to requirement in C above, candidates who possess any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:
(i) At least, two advanced level passes in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or Higher School Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent recognized by the Senate of the University of Benin at not more than two sittings. The subjects should include Physics and either one of Chemistry or Mathematics.
