DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
A. Admission Requirements for the Four Year full-time Degree Programme:
(i) West African School Certificate or its approved equivalent with credit passes in at least five subjects which should include English Language, Mathematics and Economics and any other two subjects (obtained in not more than two sittings, or equivalent (credit) passes in the General Certificate of Education at the Ordinary Level (also obtained in not more than two sittings), or equivalent credit passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate. Merit passes in English and Mathematics at the Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination may be accepted as equivalent to credit passes in West African School Certificate or General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level in the same subjects.
(ii) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination subjects are:
a) English
b) Mathematics
c) Economics
d) Plus any other Management or Social Sciences subject.
B. Admission Requirements for the Three Year Programme (Direct Entry)
(i) Requirements in A (1) above
PLUS
Two subjects at the GCE A/L or HSC, one of which should be Accounting and the other either Economics or Business Management.
In Exceptional Cases, The Following Qualifications May Also Be Considered.
(ii) Requirements in A(i) plus
A complete pass in the intermediate examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria or of any other equivalent professional Accounting body, OR
(iii) Requirements in A(i) plus
Passes in all parts of the Associate-ship Examination of the Institute of Bankers OR
(iv) Requirements in A(i) plus
The Ordinary National Diploma in Accounting or any relevant subject (Passed with minimum average of upper credits) from a recognized State or Federal, Polytechnics or College of Technology.
(v) Requirements in A(i) Plus
The Diploma in Accounting/Banking and Finance, and any other relevant area with a minimum credits pass from the University of Benin or any other recognized University.
(vi) A Higher National Diploma in any relevant subject awarded by a recognized State, Federal, Polytechnic or College of Technology.
(vii) A Bachelor's Degree in any subject awarded by a recognized University.

DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING
B.Sc. ACCOUNTING (PART-TIME)
A. Admission Requirements for the Six-Year Part-Time Degree Programme
(i) West African School Certificate with credits passes in at least five subjects, which should include English Language, Mathematics and Economics and any other two subjects (obtained in not more than two sittings, or equivalent (credits). Passes in the General Certificate of Education at the ordinary level (also obtained in not more than two sittings) or equivalent credits passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate merit pass in English and Mathematics at the Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination may be accepted at equivalent to credits passes in West Africa School Certificate or General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level in the same subjects.

B. Admission Requirements for the Five-Year Part-Time Degree Programme
Requirements in A (i) above. Plus:
(i) Two subjects at the GCE, A/L or HSC. One of which should be accounting and the other either Economics or Business Management.
(ii) A complete pass in the intermediate Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria or any other equivalent professional Accounting body, OR
(iii) Passes in all parts of the Associateship Examination in the Institute of Bankers, OR
(iv) The Ordinary National Diploma in Accounting (passed with minimum average of Upper Credits) from a recognized polytechnic or college of technology.
(v) A pass in the final examination of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators, OR
(vi) Diploma in Data Processing of the University of Benin or any other recognized University or Polytechnic or College of Education with a minimum overall pass with merit.
Advanced diploma in Banking and Finance (ADBF) of the University of Benin or any other recognized University or Polytechnic with a minimum overall pass with merit.
(vii) Ordinary National Diploma in Business Studies, Marketing or Banking and Finance or Management of Technology with a minimum overall pass with Upper credits.
(viii) A pass in the final Examinations of Accounting Technicians Scheme (ATS) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria or similar qualifications or any other equivalent recognized professional Accounting body.
(ix) National Certification of Education (NCE) in Accounting, Economics or Business Management with minimum overall pass with merit.
C. Admission Requirements for the Four-Year Part-Time degree Programme
(i) Requirement in 1 (A) above plus a Higher National Diploma in any relevant subject awarded by a recognised Polytechnic or college of Technology.
(ii) A bachelor Degree in any subject awarded by a recognised University.
DEPARTMENT OF BANKING AND FINANCE
A. Admission Requirements for Four Year Full-Time Degree Programme (UTME).
(i) West African School/SSCE Certificate/NECO (or approved equivalent) with credit passes in at least five subjects which should include English Language, Mathematics and Economics and any other two subjects (obtained in not more than two sittings) or equivalent credit passes in the General Certificate of Education at the ordinary level (also obtained in not more than two sittings).
(ii) The required Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are:
a) English Language
b) Mathematics
c) Economics
d) And any other subject.

B. Admission Requirements for the Three Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry).
(i) Requirements in A (i) above
PLUS
Two subjects at the GCE A/L or HSC, one of which should be Economics and the other either Accounting or Business Management, or
(ii) Requirements in A (i) plus

An Ordinary National Diploma in Banking & Finance or Accounting or any relevant subject (Passed with minimum average of upper credit) from a recognized State or Federal, Polytechnics or College of Technology, or
(iii) Requirements in A (i) Plus
A Diploma in Banking and Finance/ Accounting, and any other relevant discipline with a minimum credit pass from the University of Benin or any other recognized University, or
(iv) Requirements in A (i) Plus
A Higher National Diploma in any relevant subject awarded by a recognized State, Federal, Polytechnic or College of Technology, or
(v) A bachelor's degree in any subject awarded by a recognized University.
C. Admission Requirements for the Two-Year Full-Time degree Programme
(i) Requirement in A (i) plus
A Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance or Economics or Accounting (passed with a Minimum of B+ average) of a recognised Polytechnic or College of Technology.

DEPARTMENT OF BANKING AND FINANCE
B .Sc PART-TIME DEGREE PROGRAMME
A. Admission Requirements for the Six-Year Part-Time Degree Programme
(i) West African School Certificate/NECO/NABTEB with credits passes in at least five subjects, which should include English Language, Mathematics and Economics and any other two subjects (obtained in not more than two sittings, or equivalent (credits). Passes in the General Certificate of Education at the ordinary level (also obtained in not more than two sittings) or equivalent credits passes in the Senior Secondary School Certificate merit pass in English and Mathematics at the Teachers Grade II Certificate Examination may be accepted at equivalent to credits passes in West Africa School Certificate or General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level in the same subjects.
B. Admission Requirements for the Five-Year Part-Time degree Programme
Requirements in A (i) above. Plus:
(i) Two subjects at the GCE, A/L or HSC. One of which should be Accounting and the other either Economics or Business Management, or
(ii) A complete pass in the intermediate Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria or any other equivalent professional Accounting body, OR
(iii) Passes in all parts of the Associateship Examination in the Institute of Bankers, OR
(iv) The Ordinary National Diploma in Accounting (passed with minimum average of Upper Credits) from a recognized polytechnic or college of technology.

C. Admission Requirements for the Four-Year Part-Time degree Programme
i. Requirement in A (i) above plus
A Higher National Diploma in any relevant subject awarded by a recognised Polytechnic or college of Technology.
ii. Requirement in A (i) above, plus
A bachelor Degree in any subject awarded by a recognised University
DEPARTMENT OF BANKING AND FINANCE
BACHELOR’S DEGREE (B.Sc) PROGRAMME IN ACTUARIAL SCIENCE
A. Admission Requirements for Four-Year Programme Full-Time Degree Programme (UTME)
i. The minimum academic requirements are credit passes in five subjects including English, Language, Mathematics and Economics and any other two subjects at not more than two sittings in SSCE, WASSCE, GCE or NECO.
ii. The required Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are; English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other subject.
B. Admission Requirements for the Three Year Degree Programme (Direct Entry).
Requirement A (i) above plus
i. Two subjects at GCE, A/L or HSC in relevant discipline, or
ii. OND in relevant discipline with at least upper credit grade in addition to five credits passes, or
iii. HND in relevant discipline with at least lower credit in addition to five credit passes, or
iv. Final Certificate of relevant Professional Bodies in addition to five credit passes.

DEPARTMENT OF BANKING AND FINANCE
BACHELOR’S DEGREE (B. SC) PROGRAMME IN INSURANCE
A. Admission Requirements for the Four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (UTME)
(i) The minimum academic requirement is credit passes in five subjects including English, Language, Mathematics and Economics and any other two subjects at not more than two sittings.
(ii) The required Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are; English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other subject.

B. Admission Requirements for the Three Year Degree Programme (Direct Entry).
Requirement A (i) above plus
(i) Two subjects at GCE, A/L or HSC in relevant discipline, or
(ii) OND in relevant discipline with at least upper credit grade in addition to five credits passes, or

(iii) HND in relevant discipline with at least lower credit in addition to five credit passes, or
(iv) Final Certificate of relevant Professional Bodies in addition to five credit passes.
DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
B.SC BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION PROGRAMME
A. Admission Requirements for the Four-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (UTME)
(i) At least five credits passes (or equivalent in GCE O/L) and W.A.S.C. or at least Five merit passes in TC 2 which should, in all cases, include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects which must have been obtained in not more than two sittings PLUS
(ii) The UTME Subjects are, use of English, Mathematics, Economics or Business Methods Plus any other subject in the Social Sciences.
B Admission Requirement for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry):
(i) Requirements in A (i) above PLUS
Two subjects at the GCE A/L or HSC, one of which should be Economics and the other either Accounting or Business Management.
In Exceptional Cases the following Qualifications May also be considered:
(ii) Requirements in A (i) PLUS
A complete pass in the intermediate examination of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of Nigeria or of any other equivalent professional Accounting
body. OR
(iii) Requirements in A (i) PLUS
Passes in all parts of the Associate-ship Examination of the Institute of Bankers.
OR
(iv) Requirements in A (i) PLUS

The Ordinary National Diploma in Business Administration or any relevant subject (passed with minimum average of upper credit) from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.
(v) Requirements in A (i) PLUS
The Diploma in Accounting and any other relevant area with a minimum credit pass from the University of Benin or any other recognized University.
(vi) A Higher National Diploma with a minimum of lower credit pass in any relevant subject awarded by a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.
(vii) A bachelor‟s degree with a minimum of 3rd Class or Pass Degree in any subject awarded by a recognized University.
DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
BACHELOR’S DEGREE (B. Sc) IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
(INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS AND PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT)
A. Admission Requirements for the Four - Year Full-Time Degree Programme (UTME)
At least five credit passes in SSCE/NECO (or equivalent in Go CE O/L/WASC) or at least five merit passes in TC 2 which, in all cases, should include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects which must have been obtained in not more than two sittings PLUS Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination which must be in Use of English, Mathematics, Economics or Business Methods plus any other subject.
B. Admission Requirements for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)
Requirements in A (i) above PLUS
Two subjects at the GCE (A/L) or HSC one of which must be Economics, Business Management or Mathematics.
In exceptional cases, the following qualifications may also be considered
Requirements in A (i) plus
A complete pass in the intermediate examination of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) or any other professional Human Resources Management body.
Requirements in A (i) plus
The Ordinary National Diploma in Human Resources Management, Personnel Management, and Business Administration, or any relevant subject (passed with minimum average of upper credit) from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.
Requirements in A (i) plus
The Diploma in Human Resources Management, Personnel Management, Business Administration, and any other relevant area with a minimum credit pass from the University of Benin or any other recognized University
A Higher National Diploma in any relevant discipline awarded by a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.
A Bachelors Degree in any relevant discipline awarded by a recognized University.

DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
BACHELOR’S DEGREE (B. Sc) PROGRAMME IN MARKETING
A. Admission Requirements for the Four - Year Full-Time Degree Programme (UTME)
(i) At least five credit passes in SSCE, GCE Olevel or equivalent which should include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two subjects obtained in not more than two sittings. Plus
(ii) The required Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects are; English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other subject.

B. Admission Requirements for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)
(i) Requirements in A (i) above PLUS
Two subjects at the GCE A/L or HSC, one of which should be Accounting and the other either Economics or Business Management.
In Exceptional cases the following Qualifications may also be considered:
(ii) Requirements in A (i) plus

(vi) A higher National in any relevant subject awarded by a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.
(vii) A bachelors degree in any subject awarded by a recognized University.

DEPARTMENT OF ENTERPRENEURSHIP
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (B. Sc) ENTREPRENEURSHIP
A. Admission Requirements for the Four - Year Full-Time Degree Programme (UTME)
(i) The minimum academic requirement is credit passes in five subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce, and subjects in the SSCE, GCE, or equivalent, in not more than two sittings. PLUS
(ii) The UTME subjects must be in use of English, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce or Business Methods plus any other Management Sciences or Social Sciences subject.
B. Admission Requirements for the Three-Year Full-Time Degree Programme (Direct Entry)
In addition to A (i) above, PLUS two subjects at the GCE A/L or HSC, one of which should be Business Studies, and the other, either Economics or Accounting.
In exceptional cases, the following qualifications may also be considered:
(i) Requirements in A (i) PLUS
A complete pass in the intermediate examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria or of any other equivalent professional Accounting body. OR
(ii) Requirements A (i) PLUS

Passes in all parts of the Associateship Examination of the Institute of Bankers. OR
(iii) Requirements in A (i) PLUS

The Ordinary National Diploma in Business Administration or any relevant subject (passed with minimum average of upper credit) from a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.
(iv) Requirements in A (i) PLUS The Diploma in Accounting, Social Work, and any other relevant area with a minimum merit from the University of Benin or credit from any other recognized University.
(v) A Higher National Diploma in any relevant subject awarded by a recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology.
(vi) A bachelors degree in any subject awarded by a recognized University.
